Description
Xcel Energy has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Intern! This internship will be located Sherburne County Generating Plant (Sherco), located in Becker, MN. This is a hands-on internship where the intern will assist with the daily plant operations and projects. This position can begin in either January 2015 or May 2015 depending on the sucessful candidates school schedule and preference.
This position will include:
o Coordination of work with plant operations
o Perform monitoring and progress documentation of small projects.
o Assisting plant engineering in inspections and evaluations of systems.
o Prepare/review schematic and wiring diagram
-Assist in writing procedures for the operations department.
o Review design criteria and code for current/future projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status in Electrical Engineering at an ABET accredited college or university.
- Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
- A desire to work in power systems is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Applicants must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
